SCULPTURES INTEGRATED SITE
" TRIBUTE TO LOUIS BRAILLE " . Mediatheque AVH-Paris.
Here is what he said
"This sculpture evokes the Thinker or rather the inventor of genius that was Louis Braille.
forms, depending on style my own, are reduced to their simplest form sculpture focusing on the top with hand and head.
I diagrammed it closer to what was described to me the general shape of his face from a photograph that is generally a broad forehead and high cheekbones. So this
head is supported by a strong arm, with no further allusion to the body, V shape and the extension of which is an open hand that is applied against the head to the chin in an attitude of reflection.
The whole rests on several sheets of paper curl slightly over themselves to both ends, like parchment, on which is written a sentence with nails included Braille, which evokes the universal and innovative work of Louis Braille.
My sculptures are intended to be all symbolic, and it is the latter.
If I say that is symbolic is that shape represents an idea. Here
this form, refined to the extreme, embodies the idea that Louis Braille was a lot of thought to lead to the development of his alphabet. The sculpture symbolizes a kind of path the spark of genius that allowed him to invent ; It sprang from his brain, and was physically conveyed by his arm and his hand reaching for the paper ... ..
I also chose to use multiple materials, textures and colors, as this is another characteristic of my style of sculpture: I want to put on an equal footing with the tactile and visual. So this sculpture has
Does three different materials:
- resin powder white marble figure of vertical, while smooth shapes and curves,
wood-carved leaves, horizontal, citing paper rolls: c east of Linden, left in its natural color clear blonde with thin veins dark brown, but waxed and polished several times for a touch slippery
-emerged and on which the embossed steel nails included Braille. All
wants to seduce as many hands as the eye.
In conclusion I would say that this is not a realistic picture that I wanted to do but rather a sculpture that evokes the monumentality and its symbolic power of the whole personality of Louis Braille and the importance of his great invention ".
text of the sentence on the slips:
" His writing, conceived in the darkness, brings the light of knowledge those who do not see in the world. "

FOUNTAIN DREAMS AND VIEWS
THIS DOUBLE THE FOUNTAIN SCULPTURE ORNE LOCATED AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE CITY OF NIORT.
Both female and male elements of the fountain face while looking at the same time seem to dream again evoking the "Thinker" of Rodin, but in a stylistic approach revisited.
From the shape of their two bodies side by side emerges a kind of heart that evokes the feeling of affection that unites them.
The exchange between the two sculpted forms is not only the looks but also by the body and mind. Moreover, these forms "Rêvantes" where the eye is not really meant it is not fortuitous when one considers that the author does not see, seem to dance in the space under the effect of water games and light and invite viewers to participate in their mysterious dreams. This work
double conducted by DORIS, and outcome of the Coubertin Foundry, is height range by the truncated pyramid of the water table in which it is reflected. It marks the landscape, both in its symbolic meaning than its modern design, is fully consistent with the ambitious reshaping of the urban area of the city of Niort.
The fountain and water features were designed and built by one of the best fountain of France, Jean Max Llorca Consultant.En basement lies a massive machinery can handle closed circuit eight cubic meters of water.

Press article. THE PARISIAN
Livry-Gargan
Doris, the sculptor of the night
Gwenael Bourdon quiet Livry-Gargan.
City prepares to honor him with an exhibition at the Castle of the Forest (from March 11). In his tiny workshop
, Doris Valerio polished plaster with a silhouette of the female form, under the eye of Dali whose portrait is pinned to the wall. On a shelf, some of his early works: a silhouette of a bird that looks like a gargoyle, a face that wrap both hands ... To shape its subjects, Doris Valerio can not rely on only one thing: touch and the memory of the forms he saw once.
became blind at age 30
For the sculptor has gone blind there are more than twenty years after an illness. He was then thirty years, a passion for motorcycles and travel ... "I lost everything, my job, my money, my friends," says a light-hearted man of robust appearance, with long blond hair.
By participating in a modeling workshop reserved for blind, Doris takes the game of the sculpture. Fast enough, he won first prize in a salon. In 1998, in Kyoto, Japan, the Salon jury of international art awards the Governor at Work "Happiness" ... without knowing that the artist is blind. "When participating in exhibitions, he took care to hide his handicap, "says a close. It must be said that the first steps of the artist was not easy: "When a gallery owner saw me coming with my dog and my folder under his arm, he really wondered who he was dealing, remembers he said. Today, people are starting to recognize me as a real sculptor. "A small
reputation that still does not feed her man, but that convinced the artist to continue his work. Over the years he has refined his techniques to produce pure forms, always symbolic and sometimes recalling the stroke of a Brancusi. "But I've never seen her work! "Confesses Doris, who finds inspiration in the rather memories of his travels:" The Cycladic idols, or African masks. Besides the exhibition of his works in March, Doris Valério will also host a conference and several workshops for schoolchildren. And he hopes that one day we will give him the opportunity to move into a shop worthy of the name.
